Putin says early to disengage from hydrocarbons

MOSCOW, Feb 8 (PRIME) -- It is early to stop using hydrocarbons, but it is necessary to understand the way the humanity develops, President Vladimir Putin said during an online meeting of the Council for science and education on Tuesday.

“I have repeated many times that it is a way too early to disengage from hydrocarbons. We will use all of them actively for another 20, 30 or, maybe, 50 years, especially, our gas capabilities. But we should understand the way the humanity, the planet moves,” he said.

The president added that Russia has potential for development of renewable energy.

Russia should also form reliable protection against new diseases, including a powerful technological basis and infrastructure, Putin also said.
